The Math Mania - Hours, Minutes And Seconds Before The Exam

Ah... Two months of eternal bliss. Yes, I will enjoy every moment of this summer. I relax on the sofa and pick up one of the ten story books I had gotten from the library. I look at the summary on the back, "A man walks into a house and sees a man lying dead, and a woman, holding a pistol in her bloody hand........" I cant swallow it. I'm actually so free. This is unbelievable. No school, no history periods, no stupid little exa- ...."

BZZZZZZZT... BZZZZZZZT
Huh what? what? Something is shaking, vibrating.
I snatch the cell phone from under the pillow. It is 5.00 a.m. The alarm was muffled by the pillow. Realization strikes, the high spirits come plummeting down as I remember - Today is math exam. And not just math exam. Math Board Exam. Class 10. One of the life deciding  things, they say. I say its just another day where you should sit at one place for three hours.

The blog is now polluted. :P
The happiness, bliss, and 'Geth' feelings turn into misery, groaning, nervousness and so on. :P What an awful time to get a dream. Now I'll think of only murder mysteries. :|
I trudge out of bed, still very much groaning. After brushing I take out the textbook and stare at the fresh, still smelling new, pages of the book. Sorry, dear text book, I don't feel one bit sad that this is the last two hours I'll be seeing you.
Oh wait. No, I'll see you again........ When you have to be thrown out to be recycled. }:-)

Some kid on the book cover said, "The probability of me passing is 0.4!" Is this book trying to say, "That's what happens when you read me"? NCERT doesn't know how to advertise. Not that it would manage to sell a single copy even if it did know. :P What in the world am I doing? I should be studying. Well, you usually wouldn't 'Study' math. But I am in no mood to work out anything. :|

And so, I open the book. There. Task One completed successfully. Yes, I mean, opening the book. You saw how much time that took! :P
The next one hour, of course, was the most horrid period of the day. Looking through every single problem in the text book definitely isn't what you would 'pleasant'. I can't take any more of this and I close the book. I just sit there for I don't know,  around 15 minutes, thinking random random non-mathematical things.

After ending the maths note once and for all with a circle and a triangle with arcs, I end Task Two. Studying. I feel.. dizzy. But that's that. No more x squares and frustums.....! For now atleast. :P

Task Three. Preparing the tools for job. Assassinating the maths paper. My pencil box still has a random 2010 Sanskrit class-test paper, two dry pens, one mokkai pencil, and of course around five dozen threads (Yes, I'm crazy. I collect threads. :P ) After carefully transferring the threads to 'The Thread Box', which had around five hundred of them, I dig through the cupboard, looking for pencils and pens and compasses and protractors. After ten minutes of 'demolishing-neatly-arranged-cupboard-to-get-things' I get what I required. Pencils, scales, rubbers, pens, protractors, compasses, Gameboys......
Yes, a cup of coffee always helps.
Now for a little tampering and bittu vechufying, I take out a scale, and with the compass, make tiny little holes on the 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 centimetre marks. So now, when the question would require the compass to be having any of those measurements, the sharp thing would neatly go in without  slipping. Bwahaha. :P

I feel the need to feel a little more 'up'. So the obvious instant solution is - I go switch on the computer. Fb-ing, Music-ing, commenting, Buzzing and all that and the moment I switch it off, I finally start feeling nervous.

"OMG. Math Exam!!! Aaah!" and all that. Around half an hour later I give the book a flick one final time. After the final "Best of luck"s from everyone, (Hmpf. they just make me more nervous) I take out my cycle and start heading to school, for the first time, in a month.

Cars passing by. Getting the right hand fractured could probably be the BEST worst thing to happen now. I'm alive when I reach school..........

The nervousness has officially kicked in big time. I walk towards the crowd of people, half of them having math notebooks, other half discussing the world cup. Just what I wanted to know -"India should've brought in Harbhajan for the last over" :P

We still don't know our rooms. What the heck people? Exam is in fifteen minutes! Oh well. :P As long as everyone is here. :P Finally, the peon (sure it isn't pronounced, "PEE ON"?? ) came and stuck two sheets of papers. I think of the sheet that is stuck on the compartment of a train. Well, it did match. Everyone trying to stick their heads to see if they existed in the sheet and trying to figure out the rooms.

All of us climb the tiring three floors and get to our rooms. Ah. Awesome! I'm near Deepak and Aravindh Babu is in front. Atleast the exam won't be entirely boring.  I take out my things, keep it on the bench and walk out with the bag and chat with random people. My hands become ice-cold. The nervousness. The numbness. The fear...... Fitting, how, when I think of 'fear', Girija ma'am should come into our room as invigilator. I get a hold. This is no time to be nervous. Time for some ruthless problem cracking. I walk in, holding my breath..........

The Way To Devilish Death

Yercaud. Right now, I'm not going to talk about the freaking out and fun and what happened there. I'm guessing other bloggers would do that. This is something more specific in Yercaud. Ghosts.

Date: 02.02.2011
Time: 10 p.m
Event: The Haunted Arena

The date itself looks kind of weird right?

It is dark. It is silent. It is right after dinner. A person has been psyched by pranksters. It should have been left at that, but the paranoia is spreading. The Ghost paranoia is spreading. I walk out of the dinner hall. I hear a certain story. Something that involved, ' Saying "Bloody Mary" thrice would kill you'. I laugh. I ask, "Bloody Mary??" kind of loudly. A person standing there immediately starts shivering and closes his ears. "STOP SAYING THAT", he screams at me. What is wrong with you people?? I ask myself. Ghosts. I answer myself and laugh. I have no idea how badly psyched people are.

I walk to the start of the steps leading to the hotel rooms. A certain friend asks with a strange pitch in his voice, "Do you have a torch? I mean in your cell phone?". I say, "No. Why? Lost something?". He says, "No, its too dark. I cant see the steps" I look up. I can see the steps perfectly well. It is very dark of course, but there is enough light to climb the steps. I understand why he still asks though. Ghosts. My dabba cell phone has no such thing like a torch. I shake my head and climb up the steps. He and two others follow me, too closely and we part at a point where I go to my room and I don't know what happened to them. Ghosts

I knock. S.Sri opens the door. He has a twisted smile on his face. I am the last to arrive in the room. It was then I knew that there was going to be drama in the hotel room. My roommates: Kaka, Praj, S.Sri, KK, Vraj, Nith and Sga. (Not disclosing full names for the sake of their 'Vekkam, Maanam, Soodu and Soranai'. Pity you know my full name, but I guess I have very little of  anything I mentioned)

I throw myself on the bed and find that there are already three people there. I sit up. The situation as I see it: S.Sri, sitting on a place beside the television with the same twisted smile, KK with his eyes closed like a dead man, Sga and Nith under blankets, literally shivering.

"Don't tell me its Bloody Mary again?" I groan. Nith and Sga gulp and shiver more. Ghosts S.Sri says, "You say it then, thrice." I say it, so very easily, thrice. Sga and Nithin scream. S.Sri claps and declares dramatically without a preamble, "You're going to Die". Ghosts.

"Alright. if you say so" I shrugged and go off downstairs. I sigh with relief as I see Kaka and Vraj playing cricket. Some liveliness.  Then I notice Kaka sweating profusely and Vraj having a strange, blank look on his face. Ghosts. I don't ask Vraj anything. He's usually like that. But Kaka? "Huh? Why're you sweating?" I ask. He shakes his head and replies, "Not sweat. Vicks. I have cold". "Oh!!" I sighed again. Atleast somebody was sane.

I enter the bathroom to wash. It is dark. I see myself in the mirror. My lips are blood red. Ghosts. My thoughts waver. I think of S.Sri's declaration of my death. I return to sanity and violently shake my head. Climate Change, I tell myself. I still have an inkling of fear. Ghosts.

But now, I have a feeling this is going to be one heck of a night. Terrorizing time. =) I move upstairs, slowly. I make the eerie sound of ghost. Ooooo. Normally, people would simply stare and say, "What are you trying to do?" Tonight is different. Today is GHOST DAY. Nith majorly freaks and screams, "Stop. Stop. Stop" This is fun. :) Sga goes on to clutch KK who was half asleep and blissfully unaware of what was happening. S.Sri walks down to fetch something. I am left with a half asleep person and two terrified people. What Joy :) I begin to switch off the lights one by one. Screams. There is one light remaining and I can't find its switch. Damn It!
That doesn't mean I'll stop does it? "Bloo-dy Ma-ary" I sing. Screams. KK, now fully awake shouts, "Don't do that. They'll go psycho" Well, well, what do you know. Sane Person Number 2.  S.Sri returns and says, "Plans Change, Nith and Sga are too scared to sleep upstairs. So that means Vraj goes downstairs. So, I'm left alone upstairs which isn't an option. Which means you're coming upstairs to sleep and give me company." Oh what the hell? I have to take my luggage and everything else upstairs and sleep? Laziness overcomes anything else any day. "Scared?" , S.Sri asks with a twisted smile. "Nope" I reply. He then takes out his mobile and plays The Undertaker Theme.

Wow Wow. Wait a minute. S.Sri has been terrorizing people all this while? Brilliant. :) I watch his eyes become slits as his eyeballs move out of sight. Screams, screams and more screams and swearing of course. I continue to terrorize with more ghost actions. This can't be happening. This is so Childish. Kaka and Vraj and Prajish come upstairs. Vraj and Prajish a little scared, but sane nonetheless.

After some more music and video and action haunting, Sga goes on to hug the sleeping KK in fear. KK, springs up and says with a completely uncharacteristic, demonic look, " We have to wake up early you *Beep* *Beep* *Beep* "
Stunned Silence. Everyone stares as KK goes back to sleep. I whisper with a mysterious voice, "KK has been possessed". And then dramatically, the sleeping KK's middle finger springs up from the darkness. Ghosts.

S.Sri is flat on the same bed. So why should I go upstairs then? Praj evenly declares that we should go sleep. People nod. Even the insane ones. Disappointed, I move downstairs. The fun is over. Sleep is waiting. The four of us lie in bed. It is dark. Pitch Dark. Someone gets an idea of screaming away to glory to freak out people. "On the count of three. One. Two. Three. AAAAAAAHHHH" we scream and then uncontrollably laugh. Few minutes later. A dark figure is stealthily climbing down. The lights go on from both sides. Kaka and Praj have switched them on. S.Sri, caught in the act of trying to terrify us ran back up, bulbed.
After another uncontrollable fit of laughter I finally close my eyes. Darkness has come.
Death? Nah. Sleep. :P

I hereby declare 02.02 as Ghost Day.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's midnight. I'm alone. It's dark. No harm in trying.
"Bloody Mary" "Bloody Mary" "Bloody Mary"
I fall dead. As I fall, my head strikes the mouse button, and the pointer which was placed on "Publish Post" gets pressed.

The Story of A Cell Phone - II.......... AGAIN?

If you haven't read Part 1, go read now. CLICK HERE

Time: 7 p.m
Place: Sardar Patel Road
Event: Revisiting Disaster (?)

"Get two packets of Thaayar Dosa Maavu". I feel a chill down my spine as the events of that fateful day unfolded in my mind as I heard the words. I jerk out of it and came to my senses. I look at the time. Seven. The exact same time as then. And the chill in me increased even more when I feel I have the urge to get some library books. The tiny bit of my mind which spoke sense is the only thing that keeps me sane. I am handed a thousand rupee note to get the change. I stare at it in terror. I cannot be trusted. I could lose it the moment it touches my hand. Yet, I keep it inside my purse. The little part of my mind called sense was driving me, maddening the paranoid part.  I choose to wear a pants with the deepest and strongest pockets. I wouldn't do mistakes again. Or so I thought. I am asked to take my cellphone. Another spare one, which I haven't lost...... yet. I foresee disaster

I put that and the purse deep inside the pockets and place my hands on them. I Will Not Lose It Again. I move out. I walk towards the main road thinking of nothing but my cell phone. A little child, no more than three, stared so very omen-ishly at me. My paranoid self freaked. Half of me wants to go back. But half of me wants to go on for the want of novels and for the simple fact that I will be thrown out of the house if I go back and tell my parents the reason I hadn't gotten it. I move on. I see the traffic signal timer counting down - 10....9..... 8..... My ultimate impatience momentarily destroys the paranoid part in me as I begin to run. The idea of waiting for hundred whole seconds if I miss this signal provoked the lazy and impatient self to take over. I run across the road. As I come to a halt on the other side of the road,  I feel the paranoid part extinguishing every other self I had in milliseconds. I am too terrified even to check my pocket for the cell phone. But when I do so, the electric surge of relief I experience as I feel the plastic and the metal is ultimate and inexplicable. My old paranoia returns. I could still lose the cell phone. I look up a the skies. It is overcast. The events happening are shockingly similar.

For the sake of containing my paranoia I decide to change the order of events. I decide to get the Maavu first and the books next. (I know :P How brainy :P ) As I walk towards the store, I see the same people I saw. The very same shopkeepers. Paranoia. Paranoia. I barely hear my sane self screaming:- Oh What The Hell? All the shopkeepers should have changed now then? Just Get On With It.!  Yet, I remain paranoid. I see everyone with suspicion. I enter the store. I get the maavu and leave. So far so good. I could still lose the cell phone.
I enter the library. And, there, totally unexpectedly, stood a teacher bending over the Agatha Christie section. My paranoia wears out just a bit to allow this question in mind - "This person can read books?!". It so happens that the books I want are near where she is. And I have absolutely no intention of running into that person. I scurry into another corner and wait. The library guy stares at me suspiciously. :| Don't worry old guy, I have no intention of stealing your precious Sidney Sheldon. The teacher leaves. I get my books and leave. Thankfully, now,   things have speeded up a bit and the paranoia is wearing out as I check my pocket for the cell phone and its still there. I reach home. Before I do anything I take out the cell phone and the money and put them safely in the cupboard. I relax. Wait. Its Over? I actually made it? Woohooo. I still have my dabba cell phone.

Few seconds later, I find myself being blasted for buying a Rava Dosa Maavu instead of plain Maavu. :|

The Tennis Titans

The destruction of Rafael Nadal in the hands of fellow countryman David Ferrer. Quite the match. I don't care if Nadal was injured or not. He lost. That's the point. (Yes. I'm a Nadal Hater) So, all the hypes about the Rafa Slam goes down the drain. Yes! :) And now, Federer has a good chance of winning his 17th. He probably won't though. Idiot he is. :P

The Titans:

Rafael Nadal

The current World Number One. And how much ever I hate him, he deserves to be number one. One of the world's most stable players. His game is really simple. No variety at all. But, it is, nonetheless, very effective. This Spaniard is  a baseline player. He rallies and rallies and rallies and its not just 'keeping the ball in' kind of rally, he whacks them with heavy topspin to the corners without erring. Two ways he wins: One, he keeps rallying and after a point of time the other guy gets frustrated and finds the net. Two, he makes them stretch, and stretch so much that after a point of time they are bound to give him a nice and easy lollipop-ping short ball which he bazookas down the court.

He's only 24?? What the heck? He started playing grands when he was schooling?! :-| People call him a gentleman. :| I think he's a Frikkin Loser  guy with some attitude. Great going David Ferrer for not falling for his innocent silent pleas to let him win. Don't forget to lose the next round though. Your job is done. You are no longer required. :P One good thing about Nadal is that you can rely on him to destroy other pitiable people you hate without worrying about Nadal losing.

Roger Federer

The guy with great poise and elegance in his game. Former world number one, current world number two. I randomly started supporting him for one match when I didn't know what tennis was. And now I've ended up supporting him in every match he plays. :P Opposite to Nadal, his game is very unstable. He cant rally much, but he has variety. Amazing variety. One of the world's best drop shots which backspins after pitching. Great Serve. Great Volleying. Poor Baseline Rallying. Poor 'Keeping the ball inside' record. One thing, he doesn't get frustrated about these one millimeter misses. Either he hits it in, or he hits it to the chair umpire or the crowd. :P 16 Majors. Now, that is something. He's losing his game though and he's getting old. :P 29. Pete Sampras retired at 31. :P Anyway, he's an all Nike guy. He has this crappy handsome dress sense. Something like, yellow head band, yellow T-shirt, yellow wrist band, yellow shoes. Trying to impress his wife too much. get the eye of the crowd. :P

Novak Djokovic Before I proceed on this guy. Watch: Djokovic Imitation

A funny player. Not so funny when it gets to playing. He's world number three. He has a good, overall game and one of the rare tennis guys with a proper haircut.:P Can be very intimidating at times with his huge shots. He never seems to get to the top two, or win any grand except for one.
(Poof. He knocked out Federer and went on to be champ in 2008 Aussie open. No rehappenings please. :P )

Andy Murray

World Number 5. Skipping 4 :P I hate him. :P More than Nadal. He's good at tennis though (duh). Awesome, all round game. He would be number one if he moved little faster and put in more efforts. :P Haha. I cant stop thinking about that time when this guy beat some puny guy and showed off his muscles and then the next match got thrashed by Nadal. :)

That's all for now. Guess what? I'm both Nadal and Federer's height. =) Only, about thirty kilos lesser than both. :P That's a big dip in the BMI. But never mind. :|

Now, spare a thought for the Chair Umpire. I would so love to be one. You get to witness all the cool tennis matches and you get PAID for it. $$$ :) But, you would rather play tennis and get money that go through all the crap you need to, to become an umpire. :P Hah. But you would still have the awesome power of contradicting and arguing with world number ones and twos. :P

Incidentally, there is  this pretty fun game "Tennis Titans".Try it :)
Well. That's where I got the name from anyway. :P
Signing off.

Basket Brawl

"My favourite time in school is before school starts and after school ends"
This is solely the reason why. Basketball. And me liking to play this at school is definitely not because I like the game.

Why Play Then?

1. The jolly atmosphere. No one takes it that seriously. If they did, I wouldn't be allowed to play. :P It isn't total chaotic fun either. People are just serious enough to not make it look like American Football.
2. This person called Suddhu. His game. Its amazing yeah, but that's not what I'm talking about. His unmatched sarcasm and humour in the middle of a dead serious game. People need that every once in a while.
3. This certain person called AB. A very technical player. Keeps the seriousness in the game. Saying all that, he isn't an amazing player as such. Better than me surely, but then I cant be used for comparison. Despite his game, people still obey him. Duh, Of course they listen to him. Its HIS ball. :P
4. Well, I like to tease people with my height. Hah! People may be better than me at basketball, but I still get the rebound. What happens after that is not accountable. :P

The Risks?
This is a perfectly safe game if you don't mind your spectacles occasionally getting cracked. There are certain people who have taken an over dosage of steroids. They are made of sheer rock. With my luck, I get to defend these people always. And, since these people are unfortunately tall as well, they ram into me every now and then to get the rebound.

My Work: Running around rebound area. Lifting arms trying to block Mr. Roadrolling dribbler. Getting bashed. Running Around. Jumping high. Getting ball if lucky. Passing without second thought (oh wait. i can also dribble right?). Getting passed to. Shooting. Missing. Jumping and getting ball. Shooting. Missing again. Trying to hyperactively steal from the person who catches the ball. Failing. Panting. Sees someone score. Subs out. Drinks water. It goes like that......... :P

How People Do It: Dribble. Dribble. Dribble. Perfection lay up in. Dribble Dribble Dribble. Pass. Pass. Dribble. Pass. Shoot. In. Dribble. Dribble. Lay up. Miss. Foul. Pass. Pass Pass. In. Dribble. Pass out. Shoot. Perfection Three Pointer. Claps.

The KV Factor: I'm taller than him. Yet, he manages to get Every Single rebound. Hmph :P He dribbles well. He Blocks. He shoots. I manage to be in the team he isn't in always. :| If you think I'm majorly flattering. Lets go for facts. KV Sub. Score Reads: 0:14. KV's side 0. KV in. Ten minutes later. Score Reads: 17:14.
That's how it is.

The other giants: There's Suddhu who dribbles from the line at the centre (I don't know what that is called :P ) to right below the basket and tosses the ball high and it does back-flips and reaches the basket. And the place under the basket is filled with lots of tall, tall people (Bows) If it doesn't manage to reach the basket, its self explanatory that he has been fouled. He can also fail miserably while laying up or while passing. Well, by fail miserably I mean, when the ball annoyingly circles the basket hoop twice and falls down. Now, you're all going to throw tomatoes at me cuz mine hardly touch the loop. :| Nevertheless, getting to the others. There is Subbu, again, a Suddhu duplicate, with little lesser lay-uping skills and more coolness on the field. There is Arjun Ram, who can get it in from anywhere in the field. (This is NOT me. This is NOT me) I could go on till this thing says something like "Word Limit Exceeded" if it has any.

11th graders. No offense to people who may read. 10th graders (NOT me. NOT me) play much better than you guys. Again, I'm talking about the guys who I play with, so I might not know about any hidden talents out there. These big boys get very easily tensed. :| Well, not everyone can be as calm and cool as the 10th. :P
Whatever it may be, I still will continue to play basketball however badly I do till someone personally chucks me out.

Some Daily Basketball Conversations:-

*Five People Collide. Subbu's tooth is bleeding. My head is smashed and I'm on the ground and people continue to play*

Subbu: Poda! You smashed into my teeth!

Me: No! You came and bit my head. :P

AB: People! You have too many on the field. De-recognize some of your players.
Suddu: Hey. Don't use technical terms like 'De-recognize'. You simple terms like 'Chuck. Them. Out'

2011! A New Decade. There HAS to be a blogpost about this

This has been the most unemotional new year day. No Treat. No Firecrackers. No cake. No fun.  Hey wait, I did have pineapple cake yesterday. Bah. I still choose to remain grumpy. Well, its probably because I dozed off early yesterday night and didn't see the countdown and the firecrackers they show on TV. NOTHING has changed. Except the calender in the front room. :| I guess I'll have to force myself to believe that this is another normal day, like I did for every other special day.

One part of me says, "Oh my God, Its 2011 already?? No. No. No. I'm getting older! No... Stop...."
Another Part in me says, "Ah, one more year for the world to die......No more doing homework!"
Yet another me says, "2011? So what? Who cares? I don't get a new mobile phone anyway"
There are many more but  I can see that you are all asleep after reading just this I'll pass. :P

Wait. What? Resolutions? Me? Hah! I'm too grown up for making any. :) Uh, no.... Rephrasing...
I'm too grown up to keep any. :P

People, don't forget to look at your watches on 11.11.11 at 11.11 am. 11 seconds...... You'll get good luck for eleven years (makes a good forwarding mail)  If you don't, you wouldn't have wasted a second by looking at your watch.

2010. How could they abandon you like that? You were around only for one year.. Hmpf.... Looking back. I liked last year better than this year. Rephrasing again.:P I liked yesterday better than today :P

2010 was an year where all the special days were plain and boring and all the other days were filled with excitement. I don't mind if 2011 follows suit. :)

For Formalities... :P
Happy New Year to you people out there........ :)

The Twisted Piece of Machinery

What you see here is something complicated and destroyed. No, its not as bad as I want you to think. You probably think its all right anyway. Okay! Enough with the muddled sentences. Getting to the matter at hand. Lets see.... This thing has its left brake half severed, bell's ringing thing broken, lock stuck up, key bent, chain rusted and loose, and non-air-retaining tyres. Getting to the in-detail explanation of every one of these
:P :P :P

The Left Brake: Well, no worries; this still works. Only little problem is it has a mind of its own and seems to auto brake at the worst possible times. Middle of a signal, when a bus is behind you, when an Innova would crash into you if you don't move ,  well, you get the idea. Murphy's law works here too. :P

Come on! The circular thing with
spikes is fascinating :P
The Bell: This thing already had a tendency to slip upside down because of two loose nut thingeys. Me trying to bring back the thing to normal state and ring it before I run into an ignorant dog in the street has resulted in scraping the black thing off the handlebar. Now, it has saved me that pain. The round bell top thing fell off one fine day and rolled conveniently to the path of a van. I, pitying the thing, retrieved it before it got crushed. Now, it is sitting safely in my cupboard. Now I get to show off my rusted inside machinery of the bell.

This is after I managed to
bring it to proper position. :P

The Lock and KeyMurphy's law again. The lock decides on its own to get stuck up and not open when I am late to school. It takes few minutes of squiggling and twisting and turning to get the thing to open. Hence, the straightness of the key. :P

The Chain: Nothing much here. Only that this thing comes out of its loop at least twice a trip. The pain of getting down plugging the thing on again and rotating till it gets fixed, I'd rather walk home leaving the cycle to rot, but nah, the cycle has some interesting memories. (Does crashing into a Scorpio come under 'interesting'?)

Non-Air-Retaining Tyres: This is more of an exaggeration really. I have to pump air into this like every three days. And then my pump broke. Don't ask me how. So now I have to waste two rupees a week to go to that cycle shop and get it aerated. I don't mind the two rupees. I very much mind walking the cycle all the way to the shop, even if the shop is only a street away. P.S. I'm lazy. You all knew that anyway. :P

I'm done for now. If I manage to do some more damage, I'll take the pain of typing it for you. Till then, Bye!

Cycle Quotes:
1. Mountain climbing is much less straining compared to cycling without air.
2. The cycle goes faster than any other vehicle, when it comes to going over speed breakers.
3. The cycle could easily beat a Lamborghini Gallardo in a race, provided it is at Ranganathan Street, 9.30 am. (For those dim witted people who don't know. Go google it. :P )

Friends - How It Feels Like To Have One or Lose One.

I seem to be rapidly losing and gaining friends. This class has been the most upsetting of the lot. The loss of a best friend does get to you. And this is stage unfortunately set for us to become studious. I seem to be getting more away from that. Good for me present. Bad for me future. Or so people say. Getting upset about losing a friend over a huge quarrel is one thing. But, drifting apart because of no contact is painful.

Hanging out with people and eating chips with them doesn't make them friends. Being seen together always doesn't make them friends either. Friends are people who you enjoy talking to. Friends are people who you want to help out. I'm sounding so uncharacteristically philosophical and it sounds very boring. Well, I'm talking more to myself than to any of you here (Go and call me mad) In that case, I'm left with a very few friends. At least I'm lucky to have them as friends. Natural introverts like me badly need friends. I'm sure there are other introverts out there.

Some people have no friends left at all. Either Backstabbers. Or they are completely left out. Friends are needed for sanity. And I pity people who have none.
There you go. I bored the life out of you with a philosophical and seemingly emotional blog post.
Keep in touch anyway ;) Good day.

The Story Of A Cell Phone

Place: Sardar Patel Road.
Time: 7 pm.
Event: Disaster

What should have been a casual walk to the store and back turned into a nightmare which would haunt me for years to come. Here is the scenario. Traffic Signal. Fat Policemen. Overcast skies. Mushy earth. Stagnated Water. Mosquitoes. My task was to get Thaayar Dosa Maavu and I had a couple of library
books to return. I cross the road. I check my pocket for the cell phone. It is there. I go past a hotel, past the juice shop , reach the place, jump over the chains put up there and go underground. That's where the library is. I returned the books and couldn't resist getting some more. I pay. I check my pocket for the cell phone. It is there. I go up. The thunderclouds had opened up. It is raining. Heavily. I check my pocket for the cell phone. It is there. I jump over the chains again and use the books to cover me. I look at the sky. It shows no signs of stopping. My impatience tells me to run. I check my pocket for the cell phone. It is there. I step into the rain. I start running. I jump over the black liquefied earth. I stop after few yards. I check my pocket for the cell phone. It is not there.

My heart stops. This is where everything starts to move in painfully slow motion. I am not yet hit by the impact that my phone is missing. This usually happens and I find it deep inside my pocket. I search. And search. It is not there. I look back. I run back to the place I knew I had it. It was just a few yards. It is not there. I rush back and forth, the library books hardly clinging onto my hand. I go frantic. I ask a complete stranger for his cell to call mine. I call my mobile. It rings. Someone picks up. And then it gets cut. Just like that. That is when, deep inside me I knew it was gone. Some filthy thief had pocketed it. I ring again. I run the with the phone listening for my ringtone. The guy who lent me the phone starts running after me thinking I am escaping with his phone. I am literally shaking with fear and terror. I give the phone back to him. Half of me kept saying that this is a dream, the other half said that the phone was gone. A tiny bit in me believed that was there, somewhere lying to be retrieved. I go asking random people if they had seen my cell phone though I knew there is no point. I ask the vegetable guy, the flower woman, the clothes shop guy, a random walker, the library guy, some workers digging there and then back to the vegetable guy and so on for like half an hour. I ask random guys' cell phones and call my phone. Few minutes later, "The Vodafone Number you are trying to reach is currently switched off". Game Over. The thief, whoever it was, had tossed the sim into the drainage. I look up in defeat. It stopped raining. I go to the store I was supposed to go. I use the phone there to call my phone one last time. I swear at the recorded message. My full self then realizes it was gone. It was no Blackberry or iPhone but yet, it had unique memories. I call home. I tell them. I get the Thaayar Maavu. I recover the sim card from Vodafone store. I walk home. Sad, sad story. The library books had gotten considerably wet.
